Newsom defends late call for vaccine bill amendments
By Angela Hart,  POLITICO, September 16, 2019
SACRAMENTO — Gov. Gavin Newsom today defended his call for late amendments on vaccination legislation that shocked lawmakers, saying the changes were necessary for the state to implement the new restrictions on medical exemptions.
Newsom, in his first press conference in more than two weeks, said he believes his late changes strengthened the bill. He dismissed criticism that his course change — committing publicly to sign CA SB276 (19R) after author Sen. Richard Pan (D-Sacramento) agreed to narrow it, then calling for additional amendments — hurt his credibility among lawmakers and legislative leaders.  "There were a few tweaks that needed to be made. ... In Court Hearing, Planned Parenthood Employee Admits To Trafficking In Baby Body Parts
By Lauren Fink, THE FEDERALIST, September 05, 2019
Day one of the preliminary hearing for pro-life activist David Daleiden kicked off Tuesday morning at the San Francisco Superior Court with testimony from an abortion technician, a third-trimester abortionist, and a vice president of the National Abortion Federation, who testified she doesn’t know what a human tissue procurement company is or does.
NAF Vice President of External Affairs Melissa Fowler also testified she recognized StemExpress—a human tissue procurement lab exposed in Daleiden’s undercover videos that is now under federal investigation—as a repeat vendor of her for-profit organization. NAF is a third-party abortion trade group.  The nine-day hearing is the first time Planned Parenthood leaders and affiliates have (CONTINUE)

California School District Will Not Allow Parents To Opt Children Out Of LGBTQ Content, Emails Show
By Mary Margaret Olohan, THE DAILY CALLER, August 13, 2019
A California school district will not allow parents to opt their children out of classes containing LGBTQ content, figures or historical references, emails show.  Murrieta School District says parents have the ability to opt their children out of comprehensive sexual health, but parents are still not able to opt their children out of LGBTQ content when taught in other subjects, according to emails obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
The district recently came under fire after a video from the conservative group Our Watch exposed progressive sex education programs in California teaching children about oral sex, masturbation, role-playing and more.
The video depicts ACLU staff attorney Ruth Dawson, according to Our Watch, instructing teachers on how to help students obtain abortions without parental consent. The video generated no local or national media coverage until a tipster alerted the DCNF.  (CONTINUE)
